Motorist Allegedly Loses Control

Troopers say that a 33-year-old woman was driving a pickup truck on an unidentified gravel road when she reportedly attempted to pass multiple vehicles. She allegedly lost control of her vehicle, and it hit an oncoming car head-on.

One Killed, One Injured

The motorist in the car was a 26-year-old woman from Plaza. She did not survive the wreck. Emergency personnel transported the driver of the pickup to a hospital in Minot for treatment of injuries sustained in the accident.

Although this fatal accident is still the subject of an ongoing investigation, survivors of those killed in certain accidents can often seek redress in the civil court system. If it is reasonable to assert that negligent conduct contributed to loss of life, it is possible to seek compensation for loss of companionship, pain-and-suffering and burial expenses. The parties often settle such cases without the need for a trial.
