Unfortunately, construction zone accidents are all too common in the Bakken
region and beyond. On Tuesday, August 23, a pickup truck struck the rear
of an automobile in a construction zone three miles outside Crosby, North Dakota.
Construction Worker Struck by Debris
A Florida man driving the pickup truck sustained minor injuries. A female
worker in the highway construction zone was hit by debris, although she
was not seriously injured. According to the
Bismarck Tribune, she was working as a flagger at the time of the accident.
Injuries and Loss of Life
There were four occupants in the car at the time of the rear-end collision.
Two young girls died in the wreck. Their 31-year-old father, the driver
of the vehicle, was transported to a local hospital, but he did not survive.
Emergency personnel flew his young son to a Minot hospital for treatment
of serious injuries.
